Import & Export Code (IE Code)

A business entity is required to have Import and Export Code for Import and exports of goods and services in India. Import Export Code (IEC) is issued by Directorate General of Foreign Trade( DGFT) Government of India and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The code is consisting establishment PAN as referred as IE Code of the entity, payment of custom duty on imports and Export of goods is done through Import Export Code & GST registration. IEC is not required for importing goods for personal use and also for import/ export of few services notified by the government.
